Patriarch John X Sends Condolences to the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim on the Passing of His Father

Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East John X sent a letter of condolence to the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, which read:
"His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar—may God grant you long life,
With earthly sorrow mingled with the hope of divine mercy, we received the news of the passing of your father, His Highness the late Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, former Emir of the State of Qatar. His Highness’s departure is a loss for Qatar, the Arab world, and the whole world.
We pray that God, the Almighty and Most Merciful, surrounds him with His infinite mercy, grants his soul divine compassion, and bestows upon your hearts patience and solace.
May God strengthen you and guide your steps toward what is good for Qatar and all humankind.
May God have mercy on the departed and admit him into the gardens of Paradise."
