Following the visit paid this morning by His Beatitude Patriarch John X, accompanied by the Metropolitans—members of the Holy Antiochian Synod—to the Presidential Palace in Baabda and their meeting with His Excellency the President of the Lebanese Republic, General Joseph Aoun, the Fathers resumed the proceedings of their sixteenth synodal session this afternoon.
In a pastoral spirit, and driven by their keen care for the well-being of the faithful and their dedication to the children of the Antiochian Church amidst the diverse conditions they face, the Metropolitans continued reviewing reports on their archdioceses, both in the homeland and overseas. These reports reflected the zeal of the pastors and the faithful of our Antiochian Church across all archdioceses, detailing their conditions, challenges, and achievements, as well as the vision they aspire to.
The abducted Bishops, John Ibrahim and Boulos Yazigi, were also present in the deliberations of the Synod Fathers, who concluded the second session of this synodal convention.
Accompanied by the prayers of the faithful, so much desired, the Holy Synod will resume its work tomorrow.
