"May the light of Christ, who was baptized, shine in souls with peace and love."

Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East John X emphasized the significance of the Feast of Theophany, praying that the light of Christ, who was baptized, may illumine the human soul with peace and love. His Beatitude delivered this speech during the Divine Liturgy on the occasion of the Feast of the Epiphany at the Mariamite Cathedral in Damascus. Bishops Romanos Al Hannat, Mousa Khoury, Youhanna Batash, Arsenios Dahdal, and Mousa Al-Khasi, concelebrated together with a host of clergy.
During the Divine Liturgy, through laying on of His Beatitude’s hands, Brother Issa Al-Saqqa was ordained to the sacred diaconate under the name Porphyrios.
At the end of the Liturgy, the Blessing of the Waters was performed.
