His Beatitude John X, Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East received Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, delegated by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, at the Patriarchal Residence in Balamand.

The meeting was attended by the Greek Ambassador to Lebanon, Ms. Despina Kokoulopoulou, and Father Aetios Nikiforos of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

Metropolitan Emmanuel conveyed to His Beatitude the love, esteem, and solidarity of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, Archbishop of Constantinople–New Rome, expressing his support for the Church of Antioch amid the challenges facing the Middle East.

The discussion touched on the historic ties between the Churches of Antioch and Constantinople, as well as current pressing issues.
