His Beatitude Patriarch John met with the priests of Damascus and its countryside, in the presence of His Eminence Metropolitan Antonios (Houran) and the Reverend Assistant Bishops, at the Patriarchate in Damascus. Metropolitan Antonios gave a speech, starting from the meaning of Church unity, and mentioning the honesty and loyalty it entails. He explained how it is reflected in the life of the priest in love, responsibility, courage, and discernment, as emphasized by Saint John Chrysostom.

The talk was followed by an enriching discussion that included aspects of the priest’s ministry and pastoral needs in light of the current circumstances and challenges, as well as the spiritual foundations that strengthen the priest’s minstry and leads him to reflect to the parish the image of Christ.
