His Beatitude Patriarch John X celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Church of the Cross in Damascus. 20 October 2019. His Eminence Ignatius, Metropolitan of Mexico, Venezuela central America and the Islands of the Caribean sea and His Grace Ephraim Maalouli, the Patriarchal Vicar, concelebrated with him. 

During the Divine Liturgy, His Beatitude lifted up prayers for peace in Lebanon and for the protection of the Lebanese people, asking God to enlighten the authorities in Lebanon. He also prayed for peace in Syria and the protection of the Syrian land and people. His Eminence Ignatius said a homily on the day's Gospel reading.
