His Beatitude John X Patriarch of Antioch and All the East met with Cardinal Kurt Koch, Prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity, at the Dicastery’s headquarters in Rome. The meeting addressed the journey of ecumenical dialogue between the Churches.
His Beatitude emphasized the importance of dialogue and noted that the Church of Antioch has played a pioneering role in building bridges of dialogue founded on transparent communication. He affirmed that the Church of Antioch embodies both tolerance and authenticity, viewing dialogue as an integral part of its identity and essence to overcome all obstacles.
For his part, Cardinal Koch welcomed His Beatitude and the accompanying delegation, emphasizing the warm relations with the Antiochian Church. The meeting also touched upon the challenges that accompanied the progression of official documents resulting from the formal dialogue between the Catholic and Orthodox Churches.
