Lublin August 18 - 2016

In his visit to the church of Poland, His Beatitude John X the Patriarch of Antioch and the entire east prayed and thanked God in the church of the Transfiguration in the home of the bishopric in Lublin – Poland. He was accompanied by His Beatitude Saba (of Warsaw and entire Poland).

At the entrance of the church and amidst the sounds of the jingling bells, His Beatitude was received by His Eminence Abel (of Lublin) with the Catholic bishops of the city and a group of fathers and priests and officials of the civil authorities, besides the parishioners.

After raising the prayers and thanksgiving, the Archbishop of the city welcomed His Beatitude for he previously had met with him in Beirut in February 2013 representing the Church of Poland.

His Eminence assured solidarity & support of the brothers in the Church of Poland, with the Church of Antioch in these difficult circumstances. He also prayed for the return of peace to Syria.

His Beatitude John X spoke on the situation in the region that is suffering because of terror, abduction, and displacement. He also spoke on Aleppo which is under pain and suffering too and said that the suffering of this city is an image of the suffering of the whole people of Syria. His Beatitude also emphasized the importance of staying steadfast at homeland despite all difficulties, hinting to the kidnapping of the two Bishops John Ibrahim & Paul Yazigi whose absence has been for more than 3 years amidst unjustified international silence.

After the prayer, His Beatitude John X greeted the faithful granting them his blessing. He then paid a visit to the Capella museum in the archaeological city of Lublin
