Patriarch John X received a delegation from the Syrian community in the United States and members of the "Citizens for a Safe America" organization at the Patriarchate in Damascus.

The meeting touched on the actual situation in Syria and stressed the importance of the participation of all its children in the advancement of their country, as they are children of knowledge, culture and light, and wherever they go, they struggle for the good and dignity of humanity. It also touched on the role of the children of the mother country abroad on two main levels. The first is providing support and contributing to lifting sanctions, and the second is spreading the true image of the educated and peace-loving Syrian people among peoples and governments.
