His Beatitude John X meets the team work of the Department of  Ecumenical Relations and Development

His Beatitude John X met the work team of the DERD which is annexed to the Patriarchate. The participants were from all offices spread in all Syrian provinces.

After the prayer, the manager of the Department Samer Lahham held a speech in which he welcomed the attendees and made a brief about department programs, followed with an audio and visual documentary presentation about these programs as following:

1-Iraqi Refugees Program

2-Middle East Council of Churches

3-Education Program

4-people with special needs program

5- Vocational Training Program / Micro Project Investments

6-Community Capacities Building Program

7-Relief Program 

8- WASH Program

9- Health Program

10- Distribution Program

11- Community Centers Program

The presentation was followed by a guidance speech of His Beatitude in which He emphasized on the fact that the DERD forms the “Philanthropic arm of the Church” and the importance of Church’s role in the middle of the circumstances which are taking place in our country lately, clarifying that giving is so important, but it is more important to give with love and respect while addressing the other, regardless of his belonging.
