Patriarch John X Receives Deputy Prime Minister…

 

His Beatitude John X Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East received the Deputy Prime Minister of Lebanon, Dr. Tarek Mitri, accompanied by Dr. Mohammad Taha Al-Ahmad, Director of the Department of Arab Affairs at the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, at the Patriarchate in Damascus.

His Beatitude held with the Deputy Prime Minister a broad discussion that tackled issues to date and the general situation in Syria and Lebanon. The Deputy Prime Minister expressed his pride in the stances of Patriarch John and in the historic and authoritative role of the Patriarchate in Damascus through its patriarchs across the ages.

For his part, the Patriarch welcomed Dr. Mitri and the accompanying delegation, emphasizing the role of the Lebanese government during this pivotal period in the history of Lebanon and the Middle East.
