Patriarch John X, Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, presided over the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Balamand, held at the university’s new campus building in Dekwaneh–Beirut. The meeting reviewed the academic and administrative status of the university at the close of the academic year, amid the challenges facing higher education in Lebanon and the region. His Beatitude commended the efforts of the university’s administration, led by Dr. Elias Warrak, and stressed the university’s role and Antiochian, Levantine mission that remains open to all social components.
