Bishop Nicholas Baalbaki is the new Metropolitan of the Archdiocese of Hama and Dependencies

June 7-2017 Balamand The Holy Orthodox Antiochian Synod has elected in its eighth extraordinary session held at Balamand, and presided by His Beatitude John X, his grace bishop Nicholas Baalbaki as Metropolitan to the Archdiocese of Hama and Dependencies to succeed the late Metropolitan Elia Saliba. It is worth mentioning that the first nomination to the vacant position had occurred by the Archdiocese’s convention consisting of clergy and laymen. The convention had introduced 6 candidates to the Holy Synod from whom the Holy Synod elected the new Metropolitan to Hama.
