In His visit to the Romanian Church, and in the ceremonies of the 300-year anniversary of St. Anthimos the Ivirite, His Beatitude John X the Patriarch of Antioch and the entire east presided over the Divine Liturgy at St. Enthimos’ monastery at Ramnecko Veltasha.
His Beatitude had arrived at the place accompanied by His Beatitude Daniel (of Romania) and the Georgian delegation. And on the previous day he had presided over Thanksgiving at the church of the bishopric surrounded by a huge crowd of the faithful.
In the morning, His Beatitude the Antiochian Patriarch presided over the service of consecrating the church of the monastery named after “St. Anthimos the Ivirite and the Source of Life”.
His Beatitude Daniel of Bucharest and the entire Romania participated in the service with his Eminence Metropolitan John the representative of the Catholicos of Georgia and the Antiochian and the Georgian delegations with a great number of Archbishops, priests and deacons besides a huge crowd of the faithful.
Upon sprinkling the church with the Holy water, and anointing it with the Holy myrrh (the holy chrism), on its four sides, and upon planting the relics of the martyrs in the holy table of the church, they started the Divine Liturgy.
By the end of the service, the patriarchal and synodal decree was read to pronounce the sanctity of the four monks: Daniel, Misael, Neophytus, and Meletius to be enrolled in the Romanian church calendar. Then everybody approached to take the blessing from the four new canonized saints.
During the Divine Liturgy, the ancient stick - that was offered by the Patriarch of Antioch Athanasius IV in the beginning of the 18th century to the saint and martyr Archbishop Anthimos the Ivirite - was displayed to everybody. The stick was made in Aleppo.
